A court judgment awarded to a contractor in a project for the construction of a pipe manufacturing plant, valued at SAR 5 million.
Within the industrial projects sector in economic cities, construction and supply contracts form the cornerstone of large-scale project success. However, they can also give rise to complex financial disputes that require precise legal expertise.
Our client, a contracting company specialising in building construction and electromechanical works, undertook the construction of a polyethylene pipe manufacturing plant in one of the Kingdom’s economic cities. This was carried out under three principal contracts:
• Construction and finishing of the PE/PP building
• Electromechanical works contract
• Integrated electrical and mechanical services contract
Our client executed the project efficiently and completed all works, culminating in the issuance of an official handover certificate signed by both the project owner and the consultant. The total value of the executed works amounted to SAR 28,000,000.
However, disputes later arose regarding the settlement of outstanding payments. The project owner paid SAR 23 million but refused to settle the remaining SAR 5 million, despite the full completion and formal handover of the works.
Accordingly, we initiated a commercial claim before the competent court to recover the full outstanding amount. The claim included bank guarantee fees, unpaid certified interim payments, and additional works carried out at the request of the owner.
The court appointed a specialised accounting expert to examine the contracts, payment certificates, and all financial documentation. We represented our client before the expert and submitted a comprehensive technical and financial file, detailing payments, variation orders, and project milestones.
Following hearings and completion of the expert review, the court issued its final judgment in favour of our client, ordering the project owner to pay SAR 5 million, representing the full outstanding contractual entitlement.
This judgment reflects our firm’s capability to represent contracting companies in major industrial projects before Saudi courts and to successfully secure their rights through specialised legal expertise and precise financial analysis.
In cases of this nature, we emphasise that professional preparation and specialised legal representation are fundamental to recovering entitlements and safeguarding the interests of contractors and suppliers within the Kingdom’s large-scale project environment.
A commercial judgment in favour of a Dubai-based company, recovering AED 3 million in a dispute involving the supply of telecommunications and equipment.
In a complex commercial dispute between two companies operating in the electronics and telecommunications trading sector, our legal team successfully secured a final judgment in favour of a Dubai-based company, recovering its full entitlement of AED 3,000,000.
The case arose when our client supplied mobile accessories, audio-visual equipment, computer supplies, and telecommunications devices under duly documented commercial contracts and invoices. However, the opposing party attempted to evade payment through various practices, including invoice manipulation, denial of delivery, and disputing official stamps, relying on intermediary employees involved in the delivery and invoicing processes.
Our firm managed the dispute before the competent court, presenting precise legal arguments and comprehensive memoranda supported by commercial evidence, original invoices, and correspondence. We also provided a detailed legal analysis demonstrating the sequence of commercial dealings and the validity of the contractual relationship.
Following a thorough review of the facts and documentation, the court issued a final judgment in favour of our client, ordering the defendant to pay the full outstanding amount of AED 3,000,000.
This judgment represents another success for our firm in international commercial disputes, highlighting our expertise in dismantling unfounded defences and protecting the rights of foreign companies in Gulf markets. It also reflects the strength of legal procedures in recovering commercial rights through robust evidence, invoices, and executed contracts.
Securing compensation of SAR 112 million for our client in a complex contractual and engineering dispute relating to the operation and storage of liquid products.
In one of the most complex engineering and contractual disputes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, our firm acted on behalf of a client that had invested SAR 162 million in the construction of a facility for the operation and storage of liquid products.
The project encompassed engineering plans, detailed designs, and full execution. However, it was affected by serious design and execution management failures by the contractor and designer—both among the largest international engineering firms—which resulted in severe vibrations upon initial operation, nearly leading to a major environmental and criminal incident.
Leveraging our legal and technical expertise, we acted swiftly to protect our client’s rights and recover its financial entitlements. Our legal strategy focused on identifying operational and engineering faults, establishing a clear causal link between the defects and the damage, and holding the responsible parties fully accountable.
We faced complex attempts to evade liability, including the use of newly established entities represented by the same international law firm to obscure legal obligations. Our firm successfully demonstrated before the court that the principal responsible party held managerial roles across three separate entities, establishing unity of control and reinforcing liability.
The court appointed an independent engineering expert to assess the extent of the operational and design failures, based on the documentation submitted by both parties. This step confirmed the defendant’s responsibility for the actual damage and clarified the technical and financial implications of the defects.
Ultimately, our client obtained a final judgment awarding SAR 112 million in compensation, excluding claims for loss of profit. This outcome underscores the strength of our legal position and our ability to protect client interests in large-scale, complex projects.
This case highlights our firm’s capability in managing major engineering and contractual disputes, addressing sophisticated liability avoidance strategies, and building robust technical and administrative evidence. We do not merely provide legal advice—we act as a strategic partner, combining legal expertise, deep technical understanding, and market insight to deliver tangible results and safeguard our clients’ interests at the highest level.
Industrial oil supply dispute: recovery of SAR 30 million.
Our legal team secured a significant judicial victory in favour of a leading energy company in a contractual dispute with a total contract value exceeding SAR 100 million, relating to the supply of treated industrial oils used in industrial energy systems.
We filed a claim supported by strong evidence, including delivery receipts, supply orders, and official correspondence demonstrating our client’s full compliance. As a result, we obtained a court judgment ordering the defendants to pay outstanding dues exceeding SAR 30 million.
Following the initial judgment, our legal team continued to act diligently in pursuing the case before the Saudi Commercial Court of Appeal. We submitted well-founded legal arguments supported by relevant documentation and applicable regulations, which led to the confirmation of the judgment and its issuance as a final and binding decision, fully securing our client’s financial rights.
This success reflects our deep and specialised expertise in commercial litigation in Saudi Arabia, industrial supply disputes, and large-scale contract execution. It also highlights our ability to provide strong and effective legal representation before Saudi commercial courts and to achieve optimal legal outcomes for our clients.
